Moscow, Nov 19 (UNI) Russian President Vladimir Putin today called for adding religions courses to the secondary school curriculum.
''The secondary school curriculum needs various forms of teaching about religion,''Mr Putin told Russian Orthodox Church clerics in Kremlin.
''However, the study of religious subjects must be voluntary,'' Interfax news agency quoted him as saying.
Meanwhile, Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch, Alexy II proposed to form a public council for morality in the country.
''I think our society today needs a public council for morality, that would assume appropriate regulating functions,''the Russian patriarch said in Kremlin, in a meeting with Mr Putin.
