New Delhi, Nov 19 (UNI) India will take a stand on the emergency in Pakistan only after the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) has taken a final view on the issue at Kampala on November 22, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon said today.

Mr Menon was briefing the media on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit to Kampala to attend the Commonwealth Summit where the Pakistan issue will figure prominently along with the election of the association's new Secretary General.

He said the CMAG had last week given an ultimatum to Pakistan to lift emergency in ten days or face supsension from the 53-member grouping.

''We are waiting for the CMAG report and then we will take a position on it,'' he added.
