Kozhikode, Nov 19 (UNI) The Human Rights Commission today issued notice seeking clarification from Air India (AI) for its alleged ''irresponsible attitude'' by causing harassment to a group of passengers from Dubai.

The notice, addressed to the Managing Director and the Thiruvananthapuram Station Manager of the public sector carrier, was issued by Commission Chairman V P Mohan Kumar after going through a petition by a Kozhikode-bound passenger, a release said here.

In his petition, the complainant had alleged that he and 16 other passengers, who boarded the plane at Dubai on November 15, were forced to disembark at Thiruvananthapuram instead of Karipur International Airport at Kozhikode without assigning any reason causing much inconvenience to them.

Praying for suitable action against the airline company, he said the victims had to travel by road all the way to Kozhikode as the authorities refused to fly them to their defined destination violating norms.

Besides, the AI had failed to keep its schedule as the plane scheduled to depart Dubai at 1030 hrs, took off at 2000 hrs creating trouble for the entire passengers, the complainant added.
