HOA to launch awareness campaign against drug abuse

Chandigarh, Nov 19 (UNI) The Haryana Olympic Association (HOA), headed by Mr Abhey Singh Chautala will launch an extensive awareness campaign against drug abuse.

According to an official release issued here today, a national seminar on drug abuse and doping would be organised here at Jat Bhawan on December 9, which would be followed by launch of a state wide awareness campaign to guide the young generation regarding the ill effects of drugs and doping.

A number of renowned and prominent sports medicine experts, sports administrators, sports officials and representatives of different sports organisations would participate in the one-day seminar.

Olympian Mohd Aslam Sher would be the chief guest in the first session and Sports Development Commission Chairman Brig K P Singh Dev would be the chief guest in the second session. HOA President Abhey Singh Chautala would preside over both the sessions.

The release stated that during the campaign teams of sports associations' representatives and doctors would visit different colleges and schools to educate the students about the harms of drug abuse and doping.
