Haryana govt bans appointment of guest teachers

Kurukshetra, Nov 19 (UNI) The Haryana Government has banned the appointment of guest teachers in all government educational institutions.

However their special appointment could be permitted after taking into consideration the strength of the students in an institution.

An institution can also appoint a guest teacher if it becomes absolutely necessary, Education Minister Mange Ram Gupta said here today.

Mr Gupta was talking to mediapersons at Jai Ram Vidhyapeeth here after inaugurating the hostel at Seth Harbaksh Lohia Jairam Women Polytechnic at Lohar Mazra in the district.

Earlier, while speaking at a function organised to mark the inauguration of the hostel, the Education Minister made it clear that stern action would be taken against those teachers who would be found misbehaving with others.

The services of those teachers would be terminated who would be found guilty of misbehaving with girl students, he said. Criminal cases would be registered against such teachers and the head of the educational institute would also be brought to book, he made it clear.

He said that state Roadways buses would ply from Pehowa and Pipli in the morning to facilitate the girls students attending educational institutions in Lohar Majra. He appreciated the efforts being made by Jairam institutions to promote education.

He also announced to give Rs two lakh to Seth Harbaksh Jairam Women Polytechnic.

The convener of Jairam Institutions, Brahm Swaroop Bharamchari said that an engineering and medical college would be set up in the district.
