Haryana celeberates 'Quami Ekta Diwas'

Chandigarh, Nov 19 (UNI) Haryana Chief Secretary Pramilla Issar administered the National Integration Pledge to the officials of Haryana Civil Secretariat here today, to celebrate 'Quami Ekta Diwas' on the occasion of birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Issar said "Following the footsteps of the great patriots, freedom fighters and national leaders, the people of the nation should dedicate themselves to serve the nation with the feeling of patriotism." She said that the state government was organising week long celebrations of 'Quami Ekta Week' from today during which various social and educational programme would be organised all over the state with an aim to maintain and strengthen the freedom and integrity of the nation.

Ms Issar informed that each day of the week would be observed as a special day. While the National Integration Day had been observed today, Welfare of Minorities Day would be observed on November 20, Linguistic Harmony Day on November 21, Weaker Sections Day on November 22, Cultural Unity Day on November 23, Women's Day on November 24 and Conservation Day on November 25. A number of functions signifying the importance of each day would be organised all over the state.
