Former Kerala Min Cyriac John to rejoin Congress

Kozhikode, Nov 19 (UNI) Former Kerala minister Cyriac John, who recently resigned from the Nationalist Congress Party, today announced his decision to rejoin the Congress party.

Talking to newspersons here Mr John, a four-time MLA, said he, along with 30 of his supporters, would formally rejoin the Congress at a convention, date for which will be decided later, here.

He said the decision to rejoin the Congress was taken after detailed deliberations with the national and state level leadership of the party.

Some of the supporters returning to the Congress would include Nationalist Karshaka Congress General Secretary Ambal George and its chairman B K Ananadakuttan and NCP state working committee members K P Damodaran.

Mr John, a former state unit Presidednt of the NCP, had recently quit the NCP in protest against its ''failure'' to initiate disciplinary action against senior leader K Karunakaran, who made overtures to rejoin the Congress.
