Assembly pays tributes to Former CM S R Bommai

Bangalore, Nov 19 (UNI) Karnataka Assembly today paid rich tributes to former Karnataka Chief Minister S R Bommai who has passed away recently.

Moving the condolence motion Speaker Krishna praised the former chief minister as an able administrator and maintained high standard in the public life. The departed leader was elected to the house from Kundagol assembly constituency in 1978, 1983 and 1985 also served as Union HRD minister, he said.

Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, opposition leader in the Assembly N Dharam Singh, Congress leaders Mallikarjuna Kharge, Ramesh Kumar and others also spoke and paid tributes to the departed leader.

The house also condoled the demise of former legislators including Ms Anasuya Gajanana Sharma, Kulkarni Mallappa Karaveerappa, A S Guruswamy, B Venkatarayappa, K Singarigowda and T V Krishnappa.
