35 rescued after Russian Cargo ship sinks in Sea of Japan
Moscow, Nov 19 (UNI) Thirty five crew members on a Russian cargo ship, that sank in the Sea of Japan yesterday have been rescued while one person was still missing, emergency services said today.
Rescue vessel, the Lazurit, was continuing the search for the missing sailor.
''We hope that he is alive and in a life raft. The water temperature is 14 degrees Celsius (57.2 Fahrenheit), and the current in this part of the sea is warm,'' Ria Novosti quoted emergency services' spokesperson as saying.
The Kastor-1, carrying timber, sank in a storm 180 miles south of port of Nakhodka in the Russian Far East, from where it was carrying timber to China.
