President condoles loss of lives in Bangladesh cyclone

New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) President Pratibha Patil today condoled the loss of thousands of lives in the cyclone that lashed Bangladesh coasts on Thursday devastating several towns and villages in the country.

Ms Patil, in her condolence message to her Bangladesh counterpart Dr Iajuddin Ahmed, said she was deeply saddened to learn about the tragic loss of lives and substantial damage to properties in the aftermath of cyclone sidr a Rashtrapati Bhawan source said.

Ms Patil said she was confident that Bangladesh will face this tragedy with courage and fortitude.
