Hyderabad, Nov 18 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhra Reddy today said he neither adopted ''caste politics'' nor encouraged a particular caste, while appointing chairpersons or Heads in all nominated posts in the state since he assumed power.

In a press release here, Dr Reddy, responding to allegations of the Opposition Telugu Desam party (TDP) that he had recruited members of his community to all government posts in the state, said ''I never encouraged a particular caste, religion or people of a particular region in my 30-year-old political life.'' ''The Opposition parties wanted to malign my image by raising the caste issue after they failed to prove their allegations of corruption in irrigation project and INDIRAMMA housing scheme,'' he charged.

Alleging that the opposition parties were indulging in spreading ''false propaganda'' against him by stating that majority of the Corporation Chairperson and University Vice-Chancellor posts were filled up with people belonging to his caste, Dr Reddy said the TDP should go in for a ''self- introspection'' on the appointments made during its regime.
