New Delhi, Nov 18: Several air travellers were stranded at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here on Sunday morning, as at least five Air India flights were delayed by several hours due to some technical snag.

According to sources at the IGI, the Amritsar-Delhi-Birmingham-Toronto (AI 1872) departed after about 12 hours of its scheduled time, another flight to Jeddah and Muscat, Bangkok and Shanghai were delayed by four to five hours.

Flight-AI 111 to London and New York will shortly leave, as the crew was requested to extend their 'flight duty time limitation' and operate the aircraft, said an airport authority spokesperson.

Irritated over the long delay, passengers staged a protested at the airport and demanded explanations from the authorities.

No senior Air India official was seen pacifying the agitating passengers. ANI>
