Five Air India flights delayed at IGI Airport

Several
air
travellers
were
stranded
at
the
Indira
Gandhi
International
(IGI)
Airport
here
on
Sunday
morning,
as
at
least
five
Air
India
flights
were
delayed
by
several
hours
due
to
some
technical
snag.
According to sources at the IGI, the Amritsar-Delhi-Birmingham-Toronto (AI 1872) departed after about 12 hours of its scheduled time, another flight to Jeddah and Muscat, Bangkok and Shanghai were delayed by four to five hours.
Flight-AI 111 to London and New York will shortly leave, as the crew was requested to extend their 'flight duty time limitation' and operate the aircraft, said an airport authority spokesperson.
Irritated over the long delay, passengers staged a protested at the airport and demanded explanations from the authorities.
