Consumers urge Delhi govt to cancel RIL power supply contract
New Delhi, Nov 18 (UNI) The Residents Welfare associations across the Capital have urged the Delhi government to terminate the contract of Reliance Energy Limited (RIL) as there were proven incidents of power theft by the company itself in Maharashtra.
RIL is one of the major companies in Delhi, which supplies power through its companies BSES Power and BSES Yamuna.
The findings of a probe in Maharashtra revealed that the electricity distribution services in Maharashtra had put over-capacity cables to supply electricity to Reliance Infocom through which a huge amount of energy was passed on to the Reliance.
