Air Chief advocates sports co-operation among security forces

Shillong, Nov 18 (UNI) Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Fali Homi Major today advocated the need to have sports co-operation among the various security forces throughout the world.

The Air Chief Marshal, who arrived from New Delhi to inaugurate the Air Force Cup tournament at the Shillong Golf course, said military games among various defence forces in the world could help reduce the animosity along the nations.

He also informed that the British Royal Air force team would play a cricket match with the Indian Air force some time in January as part of having mutual co-operation and friendship.

Asked about having such games with hostile neighbours, with special reference to Pakistan, the Air Chief Marshal refused to comment, but said the world military games held at Hyderabad, in which 105 countries participated, was aimed at fostering friendship among various countries.
