Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) The Uttar Haryaan Bijli Vitrain Nigam has decided to provide two compact flourescent lamps of 15 watt free of cost to the applicants living below poverty line at the time of release of connections alongwith warranty card.
Earlier, the Nigam provided one CFL of 15 watt to the applicants living below poverty line.
A UHVBN spokesman said here today that the domestic connections to the BPL aplicants were being released free of cost under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana. This facility was also made available to the government schools in rural areas.
He said that the nigam had issued instructions to strengthen the record rooms in all operation circles where the record of all the consumers would be maintained.
The applicants, seeking new connections, would be required to submit three copies of consumer file.
