Ayodhya, Nov 17 (UNI) Security has been beefed up in this holy city, as the famous Chaudan Kosi Parikrama and Kartik Mela begins here from tomorrow.
Local police, paramilitary forces and eight companies of PAC have been deployed to avoid any untoward incident.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) V P Tripathi today said seven Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), 16 Superintendent of Police (SP), 9,000 homeguards and women cops have been deployed for security in the mela area.
Besides, intelligence agencies have been alerted, he added.
The Faizabad district borders would also be sealed this evening.
The entry of heavy vehciles would be restricted from tomorrow morning. The restriction would continue till November 24.
The famous Chaudan Kosi Parikrama mela will begin from tomorrow morning and conclude on November 19. On November 20th, a day long Panch Kosi Parikrama would be held.
The renowned Kartik Poornima mela would also start from tommorow night.
As many as 20 lakh devotees are expected to attend the mela.
