Kushalnagar(Karnataka), Nov 17: Encuraged by the positive response 'homestays' concept from tourists visiting Kodagu distict, the farm owners too are coming up with holiday-homes to exploit the opportunities in the tourism sector in the region.
The trend is to develop the resorts with a stress on providing family atmosphere, making the tourists familiar with the local culture during their short stay in the holiday homes.
Parumpara is one such resort that has become popular among the tourists for its unique blend of adventure and culture with a concept of 'homestays' set up at Kushalangar.
Parumpara Resorts Group Managing Director R K Bhatt said the project was in its first phase, being developed in an area of seven acres of land.
The new concept needed to be popularised among the developers of resorts and towards this the group had itself tied up with various resort groups in the region to provide the tourists with a memorable stay in Kodagu style of hospitality.
The resort consists of conventional adventure play park with rope ladders, rope bridges, climbing walls, Tarzan swings, safety nets and tree houses for both children and adults located in the coconut grove ambience.
This was the first of its kind in the state coming up with a mixture of homestays concept having lots of entertainment provided by in-house local artistes and live singing and dancing around a bonfire in the evening, he said.
