Jammu, Nov 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor S K Sinha today said military's lack of faith in democracy is root cause for political instability in Pakistan.

Speaking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a function to interact with students embarking on 'Wattan ki Sair', organised by the Army under Operation Sadhbavana at Raj Bhavan this afternoon, the Governor said religious fundamentalism and denial of democracy lay at the root cause for the present crisis in Pakistan.

''The General wished the situation improves in Pakistan and the people enjoy peace and development,'' the Governor added.

However, he advised the youth that while taking part in extra-curricular activities, they should also concentrate on academics to achieve excellence. He emphasised that there is no short cut to hard work for success in life.
