Patiala, Nov 17 (UNI) After bowling out the unfancied Jammu and Kashmir team for a paltry 86 runs yesterday, Punjab piled up a mammoth 547 for 5 in 145 overs on the penultimate day of the three-day tie in the Inter-state Cricket Tournament (Under-15) for Polly Umrigar Trophy here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.
Overnight 177 for 2, Punjab batsmen made a mockery of the fragile J and K bowling attack. Ankit Parsharthi, who was unbeaten on 79 yesterday, has created a history of sorts as he is still batting on 258, which he compiled in 383 balls with the help of nineteen fours.
Since Punjab skipper is yet to declare, despite 461 runs lead, it is very likely that Parsharthi will be given an opportunity to score a triple century.
Vikram Aditya (65) and Gauravpreet Singh (76 not out) were the other main run getters. Arjun Kumar had already scored a breezy 63 yesterday before returning to the pavilion.
For J and K, Zafar Nishan took 2 for 167, Basith Mohammad and Amir Sofi got a wicket each, conceding 47 and 38 runs respectively.
