Tirupati, Nov 17 (UNI) The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) would take necessary steps to collect, preserve and protect palm leaf manuscripts available across the country, TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy said today.
Speaking after inaugurating a two-day national seminar on Palm Leaf manuscripts, jointly organised by Sri Venkateswar Central Library and Research Centre (SVCL&RC) and Sri Venkateswara Employees Training Academy (SVETA) here, Mr Reddy said it was the duty of the TTD to collect all the hidden palm leaf manuscripts and publish it for the benefit of the future generations.
The manuscripts would reflect the history, tradition and 'Sanskruti' of the community, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, TTD Executive officer K V Ramanachary assured that the TTD would take steps to collect all the manuscripts and organise a national seminar on preservation, editing and publishing of palm leaf manuscripts. About 40 scholars across the country would participate in the meet.
