Mysore, Nov 17: A three-day All India Bonsai Convention and exhibition will be held here from November 24, Sri Ganapati Sachidananda Swamiji, of Ganapati Sachidananda Ashram, informed here today.
Speaking to newsmen Sri Swamiji informed that to create awareness among the public on Bonsai cultivation the event was being programmed in which renowned masters from all over the world were participating.
He said the event is being organised jointly with the Ashram and Bonsai study group of Indo-Japanese Association and Bonsai Friendship Federation of India. The event also witness Bonsai Plants exhibition, Bonsai Photo display and demonstrations and workshops.
Sr Swamiji also informed that during the event Ashram's Kishikindha Moolika Bansai Garden, an exquisite display of more than 380 carefully shaped and miniturized Bonsai trees, which were brought from abroad from over 80 countries would be on display for the public. "These trees have been aesthetically displayed in oriental garden setting amidst the tranquil surroundings of Ashram" he said.
Swamiji also informed that experts in Bonsai gardens Mrs Solita Tafur Rosade, Chairman of world Bonsai friendship Federation Columbia and United States, Mr Chese Rosada from North American Bonsai federation, Mr Guy Guidry from Louistana, Mr Min Hsuan Lo (Taiwan) and Mr Budi Sullistyo (Indonesia) were among the guests who would participate during the event, he said.
He said that apart from Kishikida Moolika Garden the Ashram also maintains Herbal garden, Nakshatra garden, Rasi Garden and Cacuts garden. "Ashram also produces various plant medicines from these Bonsai plants" he said.
Sri Swamiji also announced that Ashram will also hold a three day All India Veda Sammelana and Sastra Sadas from December 18 organised jointly by Maharshi Sandedepani rashtriya Veda Vidya Paratishtana, Ujjai and union HRD Ministry and Sri Venkateshwara Institute of Higher Vedic studies of Thirumala Tirupati Devasthanam.
