Kidwai visits Haryana pavilion at IITF

Chandigarh, Nov 17 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai today visited Haryana Pavilion in India International Trade Fair 2007 (IITF-2007) New Delhi and expressed keen interest in many exhibits, models and demos which depcited all round progress of the state.

He took a round of the pavillion and showed keen interest in the products displayed by the exhibitors and also interacted with them.

He was impressed with the display of traditional Haryanavi Sweets such as 'Jaleb' of Gohana, 'Peda' of Hansi, 'Rewri' and 'Ghachak' of Rohtak and other processed foods such as dehydrated vegetables and fruits, bajra biscuits and many other food products.

The Governor said that the main occupation of Haryana was farming and this year theme has given it a chance to showcase the rich practices of farming and food processing of the state.

He emphasized that small scale industries and artisans of Haryana needs encouragement and a platform to exhibit their produce at a national and international level.

He praised the efforts of Trade Fair Authority of Haryana for showcasing the progess during the IITF-2007 to promote trade and industry.

About 30 000 visitors have visited the Haryana Pavillion and had shown keen interest in processed farm produce at display. More then ten enquiries from foreign countries had been recieved till date.

'Bajra ke Biscuit' manufactured by the Choudhry Charan Singh Agriculture University, Hisar, 'jaleba' of Gohana, Stevia and Aloe vera products manufactured by the farmers of Yamunanagar displayed at Haryana Pavilion were the main attractions for the visitors.
