Himachal Pradesh all out for 179 in first innings

Bangalore, Nov 17 (UNI) Six time Ranji Champions Karnataka forced Himachal Pradesh to follow-on after bundling them out for 179 in the first innings of the Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' match played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here today.

Karnataka, who badly needs an outright victory, gained an unassilable 273 run lead in the first innings.

The visitors were struggling in their second innings as they lost their skipper Sandeep Sharma on duck to a low ball by Vinay Kumar.

Himachal Pradesh players added just 62 runs to their overnight total of 117 for four, thanks to superb bowling display by Captain Anil Kumble (3/55), R Vinay Kumar (3/26) and Sunil B Joshi (2/18) who struck at quick intervals.

Manvinder Bisla (43) who remained unbeaten was the only run getter for the visitors today.
