Margao, Nov 17 (UNI) Goa clinched Boys and Girls Under-17 Baseball titles at the 53rd National School Games 2007-08, hosted by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Goa, at Fatorda in south Goa.
In the Baseball (boys) final today, Goa edged out Delhi by 3-1 homes. Nikil Bhamaikar, Mukund Bandodkar and Swapnil Dhome scored for Goa while Arjun reduced the margin for Delhi.
Goa also lifted the Baseball Girls title yesterday, defeating Madhya Pradesh by 7-1.
Madhya Pradesh Boys claimed third place with comfortable win over Punjab by 10-0. Neeraj, Prashant, Atul, scored two each, while Jayraj, Ketan, Ankit and Ashish scored one each.
Meanwhile in the Under-19 girls football match, Haryana defeated Chadigardh by 5-0 to finish third.
Jaruna scored two while Manpreet, Sunita and Deepa scored one each for Haryana.
The final between Manipur and Assam will be played later in the day.
