Panaji, Nov 17 (UNI) An official website of the Department of Information and Publicity (DIP) of the Goa government was today hacked allegedly by a suspected Turkish terrorist group, condemning the United States as ''universal terrorist''.

The state Crime Branch police, acting on a complaint by the department director Mineno Perez, launched a probe into the hacking of website, www.goainformation.org.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Ujjwal Mishra told UNI that it was too early to come to the conclusion that the hackers were a terrorist group until it was conclusively established through the investigation.

''The United States of America, that is feeding on and strengthening behind closed doors, is the universal terrorist, is the greatest terrorist country,'' the hackers said on the hacked site.

They also uploaded a series of grisly photographs of those killed by the Turkish Commandos and the flags showing a cross and a star in the red with their leader embedded, apart from those killed and tried by the US.

One Husmingazi of Turkish Republic claimed to be the main hacker of the site, while others included Bozkurtserar and Turkmilliyetcileri Saldiriri and Kuvvetleri. They also quoted their website www.turkmilliyetcileri.net.

Mr Mineno said he lodged the complaint with the Crime Branch police at Dona Paula after informing this to the chief secretary J P Singh and the police higher ups after finding the junk on the official website today.

Mr Mishra said the case was the first of its kind in Goa and the Superintendent of Police in charge of the cybercrimes was on the job.
