New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) AICC President Sonia Gandhi today said the Congress would be revitalised in Uttar Pradesh from the grass-root level.

''The Party has lot of goodwill in the States, but we could not convert that into votes during the assembly elections held in the past one year. This is also true of Uttar Pradesh,'' Ms Gandhi said at the AICC session.

''It is, therefore, very necessary to revitalise the Party in UP from the grass-roots level,'' she said.

Rahul Gandhi, an MP from Amethi, UP, has been recently inducted into the CWC as a general secretary.

She was highly critical of the infighting in the Congress, which, she said was one of the main reasons for the Party's defeat in the assembly polls.

''We have to keep this in mind where we have a clear chance of winning,'' she added.
