3 killed in bus-jeep collission

Fatehgarh Sahib, Nov 17 (UNI) Three people were killed and ten injured in a road accident today when a speeding bus collided with a jeep on the Sirhind-Patiala road in this district.

The bus of Ambala Bus Syndicate Private Limited, Ropar carrying 25 passengers, was on its way from Patiala to Nangal when it collided with the jeep. There were two people in the jeep, which was loaded with soda bottles.

In the accident, the head of the bus driver Bikar Singh, a resident of village Lulo of district Fatehgarh Sahib was severed and fell off the bus. According to passengers, a rash the mishap occured due to negligence.

Jeep driver Daljit Singh, a resident of village Goaspur of district Ludhiana, was killed on spot and one unidentified person succumbed to his injuries at Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib.

Conductor of the bus, Binder Singh claimed that he was selling tickets to passengers when the accident took place.

The Sirhind police immediately reached on spot and restored traffic. A case has been registered.

Seriously injured Buta Singh (40), Jaswant Singh (40), residents of village Julla; Prem Singh (55), Gurmeet Singh from Patiala, Kulwinder Singh (30), a resident of Hambran, Soni (25) of village Loharmajra near Samana, Ranjit Singh and his brother Amarjit Singh, residents of Sanour (Patiala) were admitted in Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib while two other people were admitted to Rajindra Hospital, Patiala.
