Wipro obtains injunction against misleading advertisement
Bangalore, Nov 16 (UNI) Wipro Ltd today said it has obtained an injunction from a court in Hyderabad against the misleading advertisement released by Godrej for its soap brand 'Godrej No 1'.
The advertisement which had disparaging comparisons to Santoor Soap was challenged by Wipro Ltd on grounds that the advertisement was unfair, unethical, incorrect and misleading. The court accepted Wipro's plea and passed ad-interim injunction order restraining Godrej from continuing with the disparaging advertisement till further orders, Wipro said in a release here.
It said Santoor enjoys a market share exceeding 40 per cent in rural parts of Andhra Pradesh and was also ranked as the third largest toilet soap brand in the country in value terms, the release said.
