Telugu film producer in soup for cricket betting

Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) The city police today booked cases against Telugu film producer and actor Kishore Rathi and his son Mahesh Rathi and arrested two others for their alleged involvement in betting on the India-Pakistan cricket match held at Gwalior yesterday.

Based on a tip off, police raided a house under Kushaiguda police station limits here and arrested two brothers, Venkat and Padma Rao, both working as assistants of Kishore Rathi, for indulging in cricket betting yesterday.

Based on the confessional statement, police also registered cases against the film producer and his son.

A computer, six mobile phones, two landline phones and Rs 10,000 in cash were recovered from their possession, police added.
