Bangalore, Nov 16 (UNI) Leading manufacturer in the construction equipment industry, Telcon, has launched a wide range of 'new age' products, bringing latest technology to the country to conform to the global environment protection norms.
Announcing this to newspersons here, Company Managing Director Ranveer Sinha said the products were launched at EXCON, the three-day 'earth moving and construction equipment trade fair' which concluded here today. These new products offered advantages of fuel economy, high productivity and low maintenance costs.
Acknowledged as one of the 50 top Construction Equipment Companies in the world, Telcon had world class self-sufficient design and development set up which was capable of making its own design and giving customised products with tailor made attachments.
Telcon stall at the EXCON comprised display of various products such as Hydraulic excavator ZAXIS 270 LCH-3, the latest series of excavators, India's first zero tail swing excavator and the big league excavator.
Replying to queries, he said the company had two manufacturing units at Jamshedpur and Dharwad. The third state-of-the-art unit would be commissioned by the end of 2008 at Kharagpur involving an investment of Rs 600 crore. It would commence production in three phases of manufacturing of excavators, new modes of wheel loaders, road equipment and dump trucks in four years time. Besides, all the three units would have research and development and training centres.
Replying to a question, he said the company was open to the acquisition idea and had been scouting for the same. Some proposals might get crystallised by March next both within the country and abroad.
The company had a turnover of Rs 1,830 crore during 2006-07, Mr Sinha added.
