'Science Express' reaches Jammu

Jammu, Nov 16 (UNI) Loaded with scientific gadgets and hi-tech equipments, the 'Science Express' arrived at Jammu Tawi Railway Station this evening here.

According to sources, the train was flagged off on November 16 from national Capital by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with Vice Chancellor of Germany.

The nine coached, 'Science Express' will be covering 57 destinations throughout the country and after covering Delhi, Kalka, Chandigarh and Ambala, it reached here and will stay till November 19, sources told UNI.

Out of nine coaches, which were provided by the Centre, seven display science exhibition, which was being presented and managed by the German government while two coaches are taking care of generators and the staff accompanying the 'Science Express,' sources said.

The exhibition is the brainchild of an organisation named Max Plank Society, which has produced 23 Nobel laureates across the world.

Astro physics, Nano Tech, Mars, Global Challenges, The Universe and Our Home in the Cosmos' are the topics displayed via exhibition in the train and the project was being looked after by Ramesh Uttam of Vikram A Sarabhai, Community Science Centre, as a project coordinator of 'Science Express, sources confirmed.
