Jammu, Nov 16 (UNI) 'Roots In Kashmir', an initiative by the Kashmiri Pandit youth, today condemned the Panun Kashmir leader for his statement that the central government was responsible for exodus of pandits from the Valley.
Speaking to mediapersons at a press conference, Veer Saraf, a member of 'Roots in Kashmir' said the statement was completely untrue and malicious.
''We condemn the declaration of Mr Ashwani Chrungoo, president Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) in a press brief that the central government is responsible for exodus of Pandits from Kashmir. He alleged that such speeches are causing damage to the dignified return of the Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland.
He further said, 'Roots in Kashmir' a Kashmiri Pandit youth body had decided to launch a massive campaign against the self-styled leaders adding, Mr Saraf said, ''we are determined to seek our legitimate rights in the state.
However, he also alleged that Panun Kashmir Movement (PKM) had put both Kashmiri Pandits and national cause in jeopardy and asserted, ''We are in a process of setting up a task force as accountability commission for all the community forums and evolve a mechanism for political deliverance ahead.
'Roots in Kashmir' was an idea to protest and raise the general awareness of public to a level where 'fight for our roots' was felt, heard and acted upon, Mr Saraf said.
