Mumbai, Nov 16 (UNI) Rahil Narang upset fancied Aditya Agarwal to storm into the junior snooker semi-finals in the Maharashtra State Selection 2007 Billiards and Snooker Tournament held at the Matunga Gymkhana here today.
On a day of close encounters, Narang surged to a surprise 2-0 lead in the best-of-five frames contest before Agarwal pulled one back by clinching the third frame to stay in contention.
But the early advantage proved crucial for Narang as he snatched the fourth frame with a degree of comfort for a 58-41, 75-49, 24-60, 74-27 win.
In other tight matches, formidable Rovin D'Souza and Islam Gymkhana's Hasan Badami fashioned similar 3-1 wins to book their berths in the semi-finals.
Reza Merchant was the only cueist to romp into the last four with a 3-0 win.
