One child killed another injured in hit-and-run accident

Kapurthala, Nov 16 (UNI) One child was killed while his companion was badly injured when a speeding car hit them near village Dhariwal on kapurthala-Jalandhar road yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Sharanjit Singh (12) of village Dhariwal. The injured Sandeep of the same village has been admitted in the local civil hospital and his condition is stated to be serious.

According to police, both the boys were returning to home after paying obeisance at a nearby dargah when the speeding car going from Kapurthala to Jalandhar hit them resulting in the instaneous death of Sharnjit Singh and serious injuries to Sandeep.

The driver of the car fled away with the vehicle after the accident.

Police has registered a case.
