Head of Turkish state lottery shot dead
ANKARA, Nov 16 (Reuters) The head of the Turkish state lottery, Ihya Balak, was shot dead today in his office in Ankara by an employee of the lottery, television stations and state-run Anatolian news agency said.
A lottery employee said Balak had been shot around 1300 hrs IST but could not confirm whether Balak had died. He said police had sealed off the building.
CNN Turk television said the attacker was a former inspector at the state lottery, who shot Balak in the head.
No further details were immediately available.
