Allahabad, Nov 16 (UNI) Allahabad High Court has stayed the non-bailable warrant against Uttar Pradesh DGP Vikram Singh and CO Siddharth Nagar Bal Govind Sonkar issued by an Agra court, where a complaint case was pending against them since 1985.

The order was passed by Justice S S Kulshreshtha on a petition filed under CrPC section 482 by the two police officers.

On April 28, 1981, a criminal complaint was filed against Mr Singh, when he was posted as ASP Agra and against Mr Sonkar, then sub inspector by Ram Narayan Dixit under IPC sections 147, 342 and 365.

Later, notices were issued by the chief judicial magistrate on April 10, 1985.

As the accused did not appear before the court, non-bailable warrants were issued on October 10, 2007, which was challenged by way of the present petition.

The HC has fixed November 28, 2007 for further orders.
