TBILISI, Nov 16 (Reuters) Georgian President Mikhail Saakahsvili sacked his prime minister today and appointed 36-year-old bank chief Lado Gurgenidze as a replacement.

''I would like to inform you of our joint decision to submit Lado Gurgenidze for the post of prime minister,'' Saakashvili told journalists after a government meeting.

Gurgenidze is chairman of the private Bank of Georgia, the only Georgian company listed on the London stock exchange.
