Dharamshala, Nov 16 (UNI) Former Himachal Pradesh agriculture minister Vidiaya Sagar today criticised the present Congress Government failing to provide fertilisers to the farmers of the state during the current Rabi sowing season.

Addressing mediapersons here, he said over 80 per cent of the people who live in rural areas were put to great inconvenience due to the non availability of the fertilisers during the current sowing season.

Mr Sagar said the sowing of wheat and oil seeds during the year was being affected due to the present non availability of fertilisers and pesticides.

Lamenting at the lack of coordination between the state and the Central government, he said this was leading to the current crisis.

He said there was no shortage of fertilisers during the tenure of the BJP while he was the agriculture minister.

Mr Sagar said the Congress Government was ignoring the interests of the farmers who were already suffering due to high input costs.
