New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) A city court today acquitted a Blueline bus driver of the charges of causing death by rash driving.
According to prosecution, Anil Kumar (29), the deceased was crushed under the wheels of a Blueline bus on January 23, 2003 and succumbed in Batra Hospital.
Ambedkar Nagar police registered a case against the driver Satish Kumar of Dakshinpuri, Delhi under Section 279 (rash driving or riding) and 337(causing hurt by an act of endangering life or personal safety of others) of Indian Penal Code and later on filed a chargesheet under Sec 304A(causing death by negligence) before the court on April, 2003.
Ajit Kumar , counsel for the accused, cited various judgements before the court and proved that bus driver was not responsible for the accident and the prosecution had failed to prove its case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Geetanjali Goel, after hearing the arguments of defence and prosecution and looking into the matter, order to acquit the driver from all allegations.
