Ambala, Nov 16 (UNI) The BSNL today announced a 'Press Day bonanza' of free mobile calling facility to the media persons under which the media persons will get free roaming facility on mobile-to-mobile of the BSNL, except Mahanagar Telecom Areas.
Announcing the package at a function organised to celebrate the Press Day by the Haryana Union of Journalists in collaboration with the department of Journalism GMN College Ambala Cantonment today, the Haryana BSNL Circle Chief General Managar K.C. Jindal said that the journalists could avail of the facility through Group Facility Scheme under which a minimum number of 22 scribes would have to apply for it. The number may rise to hundreds.
Mr Jindal further informed that the common man could have direct access to Haryana Chief Minister or Minister at Chandigarh from any part of the state for his problem through Media E Governance Project covering the Haryana Secretariat, Chandigarh.
He disclosed that video conferencing facility from secretariat to the field had been extended at cheaper rate of connectivity. He said that there was great rush of getting broad band service and over 60,000 connections had been released so far.
The service, he said, was getting very popular among the users of E Mail. He said that against the target of providing 7 lakh mobile connections, 2 lakh had been released. More connections would be given in the coming days, he said.
