Addressing the media here yesterday, Mr Yadav, who took charge recently, said the objective of the Seva Yagnam was to serve the common people by understanding their problems at the grassroot levels and changing the attitude of policing.
''Due attention will be paid to solve the problems of vulnerable communities,'' the DGP said, adding that the new concept would change the attitude of the police force.
Stating that he would be available anytime, he said, ''the police officials have to sacrifice their ego to reach the people and serve them from the heart. The cops will be good servants, if they sacrifice their ego...Our attitude has to change. We should win the hearts of the people by serving them.'' ''I will go to all the districts to meet the district police officials after the winter session of the Assembly and discuss the problems and difficulties being faced by them while discharging their duties,'' Mr Yadav said.
Stating that economic offences, cyber crimes and organised crimes were increasing in the State, he said ''I will tackle them effectively after studying it thoroughly.'' To a query, he said his priority was to contain extremists and terrorists and added that the force was well prepared in tackling the menaces.
