Chandigarh, Nov 15 (UNI) In view of large number of requests received from the consumers, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam has decided to give one more chance to all such horticulture category consumers who are actually using electricity for agriculture purpose to convert the category from horticulture to agriculture power supply.
A UHBVN spokesman said here today that the facility would not be provided to the defaulters. The conversion from horticulture to agriculture would be done by converting the existing system into high tension configuration by installing distribution transformer right at the bore of the consumer or nearby by extending the 11KV line upto that point.
The willing consumer would be required to deposit Rs 20,000 as consent money and Rs 7,000 as per span on the existing HT / LT line and also for additional HT line.
The Superintending Engineers would personally verify the site and register their comments on the case file that the supply was actually being used by the consumer for agriculture purpose only.
The agriculture tariff in all such cases would be levied with effect from the date the consumer completed all the required formalities and the connection is energised, he added.
