Two cars with same number has cops puzzled

Mumbai, Nov 15 (UNI) Two cars with the same registration number had puzzled the city police for some time until the cops happened to come upon both the vehicles parked at the same place, and nabbed one of the drivers.

It was later found out that one of the cars was owned by Mohd Shakeel Ahamed Shaikh and the other by Abid Siddique, senior police inspector Ravinder Khandagle said.

Shaikh had bought his vehicle on bank loan, and later sold the same to one Abubakar Ahmed.

Shaikh told the police he had picked up the other vehicle from his friend Abid's house as the latter had failed to pay back Rs one lakh that he had loaned to him.

''Since duplicate keys of the car were still with Abid, I changed its colour and also the number plate, apprehending that he may take away the vehicle,'' Shaikh told the police.

Shaikh has been arrested for faking number plates and the cops have solved the mystery of two cars with the same number.
