New Delhi, Nov 15 (UNI) After a brief lull, kidnapping of children from hospitals in Delhi recurred with two infants being abducted from two hospitals in the capital in the last 24 hours.
In the first incident, 6-month-old Rahul was abducted from the lawns of Deendayal Hospital in West Delhi's Hari Nagar area this afternoon, said the police.
The child was taken away by a woman, sitting in the hospital lawns, when Rina, aunt of the baby, went to call her sister Kiran (child's mother) standing in a queue for x-ray, leaving it in the care of the stranger.
Kiran had come to the hospital with the baby, her elder son Laley and younger sister Rina for some treatment and after standing in the queue for long had asked her to 'rest' for a while in the park along with the baby.
In the second incident in Jahangirpuri's Babu Jagjiwan Ram Hospital in north-west Delhi, a one-and-a-half-month-old baby, Saba, was taken away yesterday from outside the OPD where its mother Farida had gone to administer injection.
When Farida returned after about 15 minutes she found the baby missing from the spot where she had left it.
She had been asked by the doctor to leave the baby outside the room.
Case has been registered in both the cases and investigations begun.
Police added that the sketch of the woman, who abducted the baby from DDU Hospital, was being prepared.
