Itanagar, Nov 15 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Public Health Engineering, Cooperation and Information Minister Lombo Tayeng has announced to quit politics if allegation against him on misappropriation of public fund was proved.
The Opposition in the state have alleged that Mr Tayeng had misutilised Rs four crore under 84 flood damage restoration (FDR) schemes under irrigation and flood control department in 2003 in East Siand district.
Rubbishing the allegation, Mr Tayeng said it was 'concocted and bogus'.
He had also demanded setting up of a high-level enquiry committee to probe into the details.
Referring to appointment of a few youths of Mebo, the minister's constituency, in government jobs, Mr Tayeng clarified that procedures were being followed and hence he should not be dragged unnecessarily into the controversy.
