L&T to sell Scania's multi-axle tippers

Bangalore, Nov 15: Construction major Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T) has entered into a tie-up with Swedish heavy vehicle major Scania to sell the latter's multi-axle tippers here.

Talking to newspersons last night, L&T Construction and Mining Equipment Business Unit President J P Nayak said the company was aiming to sell about 80 tippers by March next year.

Mr Nayak said the construction and mining industry was growing at about 30 per cent annually and the demand for such tippers was expected to be around 1,000 this year.

He said the tie-up with Scania would further strengthen L&T's strong presence in the construction and mining equipment sector.
