Land lease deed for 'Smart City' signed

Kochi, Nov 15 (UNI) The Kerala Government today signed the lease deed of the land to be handed over to the Dubai-based TECOM for the setting up of the Rs 1,500 crore 'Smart City' project here.

As per the agreement, signed by IT Secretary Dr Ajayakumar and TECOM Executive Director Farid Abdul Rehman, 234.5 acres of land would be leased out for 99 years to the promoters of the project.

The deed was signed at a function held at Info Park in Kakkanad, attended by Ernakulam District Collector Mohammed Hanish, Chief Minister's IT Advisor Joseph C Mathew, Project Director Babu George, Info Park CEO Radhakrishnan Nair and TECOM Marketing Manager Jazia Mohammed.

State Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and TECOM Executive Chairman Ahammed Bin Byat would jointly lay the foundation stone for the IT project tomorrow, which was expected to put the State on a higher growth trajectory.
