Chandigarh, Nov 15 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today directed the state administration to complete the survey of Below Poverty Line (BPL) families soon so that plots could be given to the Scheduled Castes and BPL families at the earliest.
The Chief Minister gave this directive to the officers of Rural Development and Panchayat Departments while presiding over a meeting here today.
Mr Hooda said that as per preliminary survey the 'Shamlat' (community land) was available in most of the villages. He directed that the land should be made available in the remaining villages also so that the process of providing plots was expedited.
He said efforts should be made to provide land near the villages. ''Wherever the land was not available it should be made available by acquisition.'' The Chief Minister also directed that for making the process more transparent and easy it was decided in the meeting to delegate and decentralise the powers so that the maximum benefits could be given to the beneficiaries at the earliest under the scheme.
He said the main aim of this scheme was to provide homes to those who did not own plots or houses.
