First volume of unique yoga book to be launched on November 17

Chennai, Nov 15 (UNI) ''Yoga from the Heart'', the first of the six volume book containing details of 3000 'yogasanas' in seven languages, would be launched by Tamil Nadu Governor S S Barnala here on November 17.

The book, containing the scientific details of the yoga postures, brought out after extensive research, has been published by Asana Andiappan Sundara Yoga and Natural Living Development Trust, its Chairman and yoga expert Dr Asana Andiappan and Secretary Asana Yogananth told reporters here today.

They said the first volume of the book containing 400 'asanas' and priced at Rs 4,500 would be released by Mr Barnala in the presence of Union Health Minister Dr Anbumani Ramadoss and Tamil Nadu Finance Minister K Anbazhagan.

Quoting research and studies, they said there were about 84 lakh 'asanas' in yoga, of which 3000 main postures had been identified for publication.

The unique feature was that for the first time the translations highlighting the significance of the 'asanas' have been made in seven languages of Sanskrit, English, Tamil, Hindi, simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese and Japanese.

Efforts would be made to translate them in eight European languages, including German, Spanish and Italian, early next year.

The remaining five volumes of the book would be published before March next year, they added.

The books were printed and designed in Hong Kong with the help of Tatlar magazine and it was already big hit in that country.

About 3000 copies have been printed and it would hit the stands from November 17.

During the function about 350 students would be given Diplomas and Degrees, including Post Graduate Degree.
