Jaipur, Nov 15 (UNI) 'Wada Na Todo Abhiyan', a children's initiative spearheaded by a group of NGOs for building public pressure to increase allocation of funds to the health and education sectors, has condemned the UPA Government at the Centre for not keeping its commitment of allocating nine per cent of the GDP on above two heads.

The initiative has expressed its dissatisfaction over the present allocation of around four to five per cent of the GDP to the health and education sectors and said that the Centre, in its Common Minimum Programme (CMP), had committed to allocate nine per cent of GDP for public expenditure on the above two heads.

However, after a lapse of over three years, the scenario was dissapointing and the infrastruture and service facilities in the health and education sectors in most of the states were in a bad state.

The Prime Minister had earlier this year assured the initiative delegation for due consideration of the matter but nothing had happened and the budget allocation to education and health still stayed low at four per cent, an initiative partner, Centre for Community Economics and Development Consultants Society (CECOEDECON) spokesman said here.
